Happiness Is Not Important

Throughout my life, I’ve been taught that happiness is important. That what is most important is to bring happiness not just for my own well-being, but also for the betterment of others, especially those in need.

But recently, I came to the realization that happiness alone isn’t the sole determinant of a fulfilling and meaningful life.

This realization was triggered by a video circulating on social media, in which an adult asked a child whether happiness is important or not. The child’s response caught me off guard. He answered with a simple, yet profound, "No, because all emotions matter."

At that moment I was surprised. How had I never considered this before? Emotions, including happiness, are all pieces of a complex puzzle. They all matter as much. Nothing matter more than the other.

When you think about it, it makes sense how balancing all those emotions would benefit many aspects of our life like how we made decisions, our emotional well-being and personal growth.

Well, today I learned that while happiness is often pursued, it is essential to recognize and appreciate the importance of all emotions in shaping our experiences and understanding ourselves.

A pretty short writing :) Hope y’all have a great day!🌞
